Inner Cities for Jesus Ministry Update
Greetings,
This past year has been an awesome year of ministry. We have seen lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, people have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and we are beginning to build continuing relationships with the schools and families in the surrounding communities in the inner city of Houston.
Below you will find pictures and captions that show some of the exciting things that we have been able to accomplish this year with the help and support of our ministry contributing partners. Without your help, we would not be able to do what God has called us to do. On behalf of those who we minister to, we thank you for your ongoing generous support of this ministry.
Here is a summary of some of the highlights of our past year:
The Great OutDoors Club has been a great success in it's first year of operation at Lyons Elementary School. We were able to conduct several family outings this year, helping us to meet the parents of the children that we have ministered to through the years. The students involved in the OutDoor Club, when asked what their favorite part of the club is, almost unanimously replied "Learning about Jesus." It is working and we are looking forward to the possibility of expanding the program into other schools next year.
Achievement Club
The Community Lighthouse Achievement Club again presented the message of Drug and Gang awarenes to approximately 200 students, many of which earned the Certificate of Achievement or the Certificate of Excellence Awards. In addition to the certificates, we also presented $250 in WalMart gift cards and a $100 Savings Bond to the outstanding student. This is another area of ministry that we will be looking to expand in the next school year. It has been a great tool for helping to impact the community in a positive way and getting to know the families of the inner city.
Outreach Events
In 2006 - 2007, we have had the privilege of participating with Gateway Fellowship of Katy and Lindale Assembly in carrying out Easter Outreach Events, Hope for Houston and End of Year School Outreach programs. All together, approximately 3000 people have been impacted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through these events. I have been asked to help in the coming summer months with outreaches that will help to plant 3 churches in the Houston area. Please keep us in prayer as these events come together.
Speaking Engagements, teaching & Evangelism Workshops
In the coming year, I will be scheduling more of our Evangelism workshops, helping churches to reach into their communities, Teaching workshops designed to help Christian Educators become more efficient and effective at lesson preparation and lesson presentation, and also working on developing new curriculum for Family Crusades and Children's ministry programs. Paula & I continue to serve as children's Pastors at Lindale Assembly in addition to our other ministry endeavors. Paula has started a new puppet team called the Extreme Team. If we can serve you by helping your church with outreach events, please call us at 713-688-2785.

The Great OutDoors Club teaches boys and girls about God's creation through outdoor activities, Bible Studies and family field trips.

Hope for Houston Outreach
We were privileged to be part of the Hope for Houston outreach event hosted by Lindale Assembly. Approximately 1500 were in attendance receiving food, clothes and most importantly hearing the message of Jesus Christ.
